The most complete restoration stories are built with global data and your project data from the ground up. That’s why we’re excited to introduce Self-Reported Data: a powerful new feature that lets you add your local observations directly into your project profile.
Why does this matter?
Global datasets show us the scale of ecosystem change. Additionally, self-reported data provides the local knowledge that only you can offer: the lived, local, and social dimensions of restoration. Together, these insights bring your impact to life, revealing what’s changing on the ground and how restoration is improving ecosystems and lives, offering a fuller, more transparent picture of your restoration journey.
What kind of data can you upload?
You can currently upload data on key restoration indicators:
Trees planted
Total trees currently on site
Tree species observed
Tree species planted
Native tree species planted
Invasive trees removed
This is just the start. We’re working on adding social and economic indicators, including job creation, gender data, and carbon sequestration, among others, so you can demonstrate how your restoration efforts benefit both people and landscapes.
How the Instituto de Pesquisas Ecológicas (IPÊ) in Brazil is benefiting from self-reported data
IPÊ Brazil is one of our early adopters of Restor Insights' new feature, self-reported data. They have begun exploring the new feature and see strong potential in its use across multiple project sites. In their words:
"Self-reported data can be a promising tool for tracking and measuring the progress of restoration areas over time toward established goals. Since IPÊ works across multiple sites, having a clear and accessible graphical visualization is essential. It allows us to easily share information with funders and other stakeholders, strengthening trust and providing evidence of the project’s positive impacts," shares Carolina Biscola, CCB Monitoring for Corridors of Life Project
