The Anthem Awards, a new initiative from the Webby Awards, acknowledges the growing social good movement and recognizes the initiatives creating positive impacts worldwide. Restor is honored to receive two awards: Gold for Best Product, and Silver for Best Partnership or Collaboration in Sustainability, Environment, & Climate category.
Restoring and conserving nature is critical to slowing the impacts of climate change. When done in an ecologically and socially responsible way, it can increase food security for more than 1.3 billion people and avoid 60 percent of expected species extinctions. Restor connects and supports restoration and conservation sites across the world to accelerate their efforts.
“Restor is honored to win these Anthem Awards and share them with all the incredible partners who helped build Restor”, says Clara Rowe, CEO of Restor. “The collaborative effort to build Restor is emblematic of the collaboration we hope to foster across the restoration movement.”
Restor was founded by ETH Zurich’s Crowther Lab and developed in collaboration with Google to make valuable ecological data and high-resolution satellite imagery accessible. Foxhole QA, Google Creative Lab, Siberia, and Vizzuality also contributed to the development of the platform. Since its launch in 2021, more than 500 organizations and individuals have added 76,700 sites and counting to the platform.
A star-studded inaugural Anthem Award
Anthem Winners are selected by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. Members include Daniel Dae Kim (actor, producer, and activist); Ashley Judd (author, actor, and social justice humanitarian); Mitchell Baker (CEO and Chairwoman, Mozilla), and many more high-profile and influential individuals.
“It is our distinct honor to recognize the work that brands, organizations, and individuals are all making to create an impact in their community,” said Jessica Lauretti, Managing Director, The Anthem Awards. “We launched this platform to show the world that all corners of our culture, from sports and entertainment to business leaders and celebrities, are all standing up to say, it is time for systemic change and that social good is what we value as a society.”
Winners for the inaugural Anthem Awards will be celebrated at the first annual Anthem Voices conference followed by a star-studded virtual Awards Show on Monday, February 28, 2022.
The inaugural Anthem Awards received nearly 2,500 entries from 36 countries worldwide. By amplifying the voices that spark global change, the Anthem Awards are defining a new benchmark for impactful work that inspires others to take action in their communities. A portion of program revenue will fund a new grant program supporting emerging individuals and organizations working to advance the causes recognized in the inaugural Anthem Awards.
