I’m still reflecting on the incredible opportunity for Restor to host a panel discussion at ClimateHubDavos, during the World Economic Forum in Davos. It’s always inspiring to be in the presence of so many influential leaders from across industries, but to be able to represent our Restor community in front of such a diverse audience was truly special.

Those of you who’ve been to Davos will know—it’s an absolute whirlwind. Leaders from big corporations to governments come together to discuss the most pressing global challenges. I still feel that amidst all the high-level discussions, the side events have a lasting impact. One that stood out was ClimateHubDavos, which focused on climate and nature solutions—critical areas for global sustainability. I was thrilled to contribute to the conversation on regenerative agriculture, a topic that’s become so close to my heart over the years.

Regenerative Agriculture—or Regen Ag, as it’s often called—is truly picking up momentum. For all the right reasons. Our side event ‘Regenerative Agriculture Business Models: Empowering Nature Stewards’ couldn’t have been more timely. There's growing recognition that regenerative agriculture could be the key to restoring our soils, increasing resilience to climate change, and driving a more sustainable future. But we also know that to speed up the restoration movement, we must ensure that local stewards—who are often the ones leading the charge—financially benefit from the work they do.

We started by showcasing some amazing examples of organizations that successfully blend production and nature conservation, the South India Coffee Company and FarFarm.

Next, we wanted to bring together thought leaders from across the spectrum to explore how regenerative agriculture can be both a natural and financial solution for farmers. Our panel featured six incredible individuals with diverse perspectives, ranging from startups in the regenerative space to multinational agrochemical companies and global/local nature initiatives. Each of them contributed a piece of the puzzle.

Regenerative agriculture can indeed be the economic choice for farmers, not just an environmental one. Farmers need better access to knowledge, markets, and finance to accelerate the movement.

Carolle Alarcon from Coalizao Brasil, Prithvi Naik from Nzatu, and Alexandra Brand from Syngenta kicked off the conversation by chiming in. Marco Lambertini from the Nature Positive Initiative added an important perspective, calling for a shift in subsidies—from harmful, nature-depleting subsidies to nature-positive ones. It’s clear that we need systemic change to support the transition to a more regenerative agricultural model on a global scale. Dr. Philipp Staudacher from Innovate4Nature and Florian Reber from Chloris Geospatial highlighted how innovation & technology can support farmers in their regenerative journey.

We now have the science to prove that regenerative agriculture is beneficial, not only for the land but for the people who steward it. With Restor, we’re committed to helping accelerate the RegenAG movement by providing farmers with the data they need to monitor the positive impact of their transition. But we also know that access to finance and markets is crucial.

On a personal note, I'm excited about how this work is unfolding. That’s why the launch of the Restor App is so important to me—it directly connects farmers to consumers, helping them access markets and be rewarded for their stewardship. It’s a step forward, and one I’m proud to be part of.

There’s still much to be done, but I’m optimistic. With more private and public finance supporting the transition, the movement toward regenerative agriculture can grow exponentially.  Let’s keep working together to empower farmers and restore nature—because the more we regenerate, the more we all stand to benefit.
