After an incredible 2.5 years, we are saying goodbye to our first CEO, Clara Rowe. “Clara has poured her brain and heart into building, growing, and leading Restor, and we will miss her tremendously!” says Tom Crowther, founder and chair of the Restor Foundation. He continues “Clara has a wonderful ability to bring together actors across sectors and geographies, and we are excited to build upon the foundation she has established to unite the restoration movement.”

Under Clara’s leadership, Restor has grown into the largest hub for restoration and conservation sites in the world. Today, we are home to more than 130,000 restoration and conservation sites across 140 countries and 14 biomes. The 15,000 users on Restor represent grassroots restoration initiatives, big NGOs, agroforestry cooperatives, nature-based businesses, scientists, governments, and active citizens.

During her tenure at Restor, Clara built a team of 25 sustainability professionals, restoration practitioners, and technologists spread across four continents.

We wish Clara every success in her next career step and look forward to finding opportunities to accelerate the protection and restoration of nature and biodiversity together in the future.

As Clara departs, we are fortunate to have Tom Elliott join us as interim CEO. As Managing Director of Crowther Lab for the last 5 years, and a founding board member, Tom was instrumental in getting Restor off the ground. “I look forward to deepening relationships across this incredible network as Restor grows its role as the go-to hub for every organization working with nature!" says Tom.

Please join us in our farewell to Clara and welcome to Tom.
